UNITED STATES BOWLING CONGRESS
GREATER FORT WORTH METROPLEX BOWLING ASSOCIATION
PROGRAMS AND SERVICES

  1. LEAGUE SUPPLIES
    Supplies are available to all USBC certified leagues.  These include record cards, league standing sheets, team schedules, rule books, average calculators, handicap charts and a president’s work sheet for verification of league funds, etc.
  2. BONDING
    Free bonding service is furnished to leagues that are certified through the United States Bowling Congress.  This service is provided where the league has a cash prize fund.  The service protects the leagues from embezzlement or theft by its officers and furnishes burglary and holdup insurance if funds are deposited weekly as required by the USBC rules.  The league can gain 100% coverage if the President of the league follows the prescribed procedures in verifying the league prize funds.  The bonding will provide 50% coverage when the league officers fail to follow the prescribed procedures under the rules.  Bonding is automatic when the appropriate section of the sanction form is filled out and filed with the local association within the prescribed time limits.
  3. AWARDS
    • The United States Bowling Congress provides the following awards to certified members participating in a certified league.
      1. LEAGUE AWARDS
        1. League Champion emblems for each member of a League Champion's team.
        2. USBC high average pin for USBC member with the highest average (2).
        3. USBC league high series pin for USBC member with the league's highest series (2).
        4. A key ring for the USBC bowler who shows the greatest improvement in his/her average during the season.
        5. Youth League Awards
          1. League Champion emblem for each member of the championship team.
          2. USBC high average emblems (2).
          3. USBC high game pin (2).
          4. USBC high series (2).
          5. USBC most improved award (2).
      2. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
        1. A ring, medal or scholarship for a member bowling a 900 series.
        2. A ring, wristwatch, plaque, medal and certificate or scholarship for a member bowling a 300 game or their first 800 or greater series.
        3. An eleven in a row plaque for a member who has eleven consecutive strikes with a score of 299 or less.  The individual may purchases a ring to commemorate their acheivement from Keepsake.
        4. A Merit award to an individual who bowls the highest actual game (providing no member qualified for a 300, 299 or 298 award), average or three-game series in the local association during the current bowling year of August 1 to July 31 of the following year.
        5. Chevron awards for members for the following achievements:
          1. Converting the 7-10 or 4-6-7-10 split. *
          2. Bowling an all-spare game. *
          3. Bowling a Dutch 200 game. *
          4. Bowling a triplicate three (3) game score. *
          5. Bowling 75 pins over average in a single game. *
          6. Bowling 100 pins over average in a single game. *
          7. Bowling an 80 game with an average of 50 or less. *
          8. Bowling a 100 game with an average of 70 or less. *
          9. Bowling a 120 game with an average of 90 or less. *
          10. Bowling a 140 game with an average of 100 or less. *
          11. Bowling a 160 game with an average of 120 or less. *
          12. Bowling a 180 game with an average of 140 or less. *
          13. Bowling 140 pins over average in a three-game series. *
          14. Bowling 200 series with an average of 50 or less. *
          15. Bowling 300 series with an average of 90 or less. *
          16. Bowling 400 series with an average of 115 or less. *
          17. Bowling 500 series with an average of 140 or less. *
          18. Bowling 600 series with an average of 175 or less. *
          19. Bowling 700 series with an average of 210 or less. *
        *  Special Achievement are recognized one per season (August 1st through July 31st).
      3. NATIONAL AWARDS
        1. High Average, High Series — The adult and youth, male and female with highest average and highest series in the Congress will be honored with this award.
        2. USBC will recognize the members of five-, four-, three- and two- player teams that bowl one of the three highest games and/or series in the nation.
      4. TOURNAMENT AWARDS
        Champion chevron awards are available for the Association Champion members that participate in the Association’s Annual Championship Tournament for Team, Double, Singles and All Events for each of the division of the Tournament.  The same awards are available for the Association Youth Championship.
    • The Greater Fort Worth Metroplex (USBC) Association provides the following awards to certified members participating in a certified league.
      1. INDIVIDUAL AWARDS
        1. 5-7-10 pins left or converted — Luggage Tag
        2. Split conversions (4-6) (7-9) (8-10) (4-6-7-8-10) (4-6-7-9-10) — Key Ring
        3. 130 average or less with a 200 game — See application for award selection
        4. 150 average or less with a 225 game — See application for award selection
        5. 170 average or less with a 250 game — See application for award selection
        6. All bowlers with a 280 game — See application for award selection
        7. 125 average or less with a 500 series — See application for award selection
        8. 150 average or less with a 600 series — See application for award selection
        9. 170 average or less with 650 series — See application for award selection
        10. All bowler with a 725 series  — See application for award selection
  4. RULES INTERPRETATION AND ADJUDICATION
    The United States Bowling Congress, local and national offices, provides rule interpretation of any USBC or league rule when requested to do so in writing. The USBC National office provides final adjudication of all rule violations.
  5. CENTER CERTIFICATION AND LANE INSPECTION
    All lanes, pins, pin spotters and associated equipment are inspected annually by the Unites States Bowling Congress certified lane inspector for compliance with USBC rules and specifications to insure all certified competition is conducted on as near equitable conditions as possible.  The local Association fulfills the certification/inspection process.
  6. AVERAGE BOOKS
    The Association publishes an average book annually.  The Association solicits ads for the average book to help defray the cost.  All certified leagues in the jurisdiction of the Association will be provided a copy of the average book.

     

  7. TOURNAMENTS
    The association will host the following tournaments:
    1. Open Championship Tournament
    2. Metro Women's Championship Tournament
    3. Mineral Wells Invitational Tournament
    4. Senior Mixed Tournament
    5. Metro Queens Tournament
    6. Bowl for the Cure Tournament
    7. Youth Tournaments
      1. Metro Youth Championship Tournament
      2. Metro Youth Scholarship Tournament
      3. Youth Adult Tournament
  8. SPECIAL ACTIVITIES
    The Association will continue to promote the following programs:
    1. BVL — This will be a 50/50 activity conducted at the championship tournaments, as well as other association activities.  The Association directors may visit leagues during Veterans week to raise additional funds.
    2. Annual Open Meeting — The Association will cater a meal and provide updates to Association activities.
    3. The Association conducts ball raffles during the bowling seasons with the proceeds helping reduce the need for membership increases.
  9. COMMUNICATIONS
    Across Texas Lanes — continue to support this publication with articles on a quarterly basis with information of happenings in our Association.
  10. HOUSE REPRESENTATIVES
    Provide Directors to assist with league organization, league problems, promote and publicize association and association sponsored tournaments and assist proprietors with league and center programs.
  11. LEAGUE OFFICER AND ASSOCIATION DIRECTOR TRAINING
    The Association provides training programs for:
    1. League officers on meeting requirements for those offices.
    2. Director training on league rules and conduct at the centers.
    3. Director training on tournament operations which includes bracket training.
  12. COMMITTEE STRUCTURE
    The Association will maintain a committee structure that will better lend volunteer expertise and talents, director or member, to needed areas for operation of a successful association.
