Association Members:
As you may, or may not, know, the Greater Fort Worth Metroplex USBC Association has lost its charter with USBC. This was due to our failure to adequetly file the appropriate forms with the IRS and State of Texas for the past few years. We trusted this responsibilty to an individual who proved unworth of our trust.
We have gotten things straightened out with the State of Texas, and are waiting on the IRS' decision, and are optimistic that they will retroactively reinstate our non-profit status. We were suprised that USBC chose to deny our appeal to reinstate our charter.
After finding out that USBC was accepting proposals for the formation of a new association to service the bowlers in our area, the board of directors of the Greater Fort Worth Metroplex Bowling Association, Inc., a Texas corporation, held a meeting to discuss how we would respond to USBC. We have decided to present a proposal to USBC and are working on the details of the proposal. The committee that we have selected to present the proposal consists of a director for the centers in Fort Worth proper, a director for the outlying centers, a youth representative, a proprietor representative and a bowler who was not previously associated with the local association.
We are committed to the best interest of the bowlers that we have been servicing for years, and want to continue to to help you in any way that we can. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to contact us.
